About the Creator

Hello, I'm Sara Burnard.

I am an Australian creator and designer based in Virginia with a lifelong passion for interiors, decorative arts, and the objects that make a home feel collected, personal, and beautiful.

My creative journey began with traditional oil painting before evolving into digital art and design. Throughout that journey, my fascination with colour, composition, pattern, and storytelling has remained constant.

I draw inspiration from English country houses, botanical gardens, antique textiles, chinoiserie, wildlife illustration, and the rich traditions of decorative ornament. These influences come together in House of Jewel Chintz, a growing collection of original decorative artworks inspired by nature, beauty, and timeless interiors.

Through collections such as Aviary, Menagerie, Tea Salon, and Florals, I explore a world where birds nest among abundant blooms, animals emerge from jewel-toned gardens, and treasured objects become heirloom-inspired works of art.

Every piece begins with an idea and is thoughtfully developed into a finished artwork designed to bring colour, character, and joy to the home.
